Description

Rare magnifying glass designed by Richard Meier for Swid Powell.

  • Silver-plate over brass with ebonized wood handle.
  • Richard Meier was the youngest recipient of the Pritzker Prize, the highest honor an architect can receive.
  • Quoted as saying “Architecture is art, but it has to be functional. Objects should carry the same philosophy. They should work perfectly in all environments, be useful yet elegant, and help to create a sense of event.” That philosophy is evident in this piece.
  • Marked Made In Italy and Silver Plated.
