Description

Abstract landscape painting by Cream drummer Ginger Baker, circa 1966-1967.

  • Peter Edward Ginger Baker (English, 1939-2019).
  • Unframed.

The painting is accompanied by a letter from Ginger’s daughter, Ginette Nettie Baker which reads: My father Ginger Baker spent many hours drawing and painting throughout the 1960s. There was also at this time, a strong interest in Science Fiction. Our walls in the Neasden, London UK home where Cream was formed, were covered in his art work. These two ‘Alien Landscape’ works were created around 1966/67 during the time of Cream’s rise to super stardom. These works were packed away and lost in a move from a large Harrow on the Hill home, to a smaller North Harrow residence in purchased by my mother (first wife Liz Baker) after their divorce. These works were not discovered again until 2013, shortly before Liz Baker’s death and I took them to show my father who was thrilled to see them again.
