Description
Founded in 1894 by German-born watchmaker Dietrich Grün, Gruen watches are powered by Swiss movements and assembled and adjusted in the U.S. with American-made cases. Gruen saw much success among collectors for their high-quality watches. Unfortunately in 1958, Gruen ceased production and nearly all information concerning serial numbers, watch types, etc. were destroyed or lost. This model features a simplistic design with a silver dial and oversized hour markers for legibility at a glance.
Honest Vintage: The Greg Selch Collection
A native New Yorker from a family of connoisseurs, Greg Selch has collected watches for over 20 years, among many other things. Over the years, Selch has become well-known for his passion: “orphan watches” as well as well-worn watches with patina, for which a term has been created: #selchism.

FairThe watch is in overall fair condition with visible wear throughout commensurate with age. Case is in overall fair condition with scratches. Rubber strap has signs of surface wear throughout commensurate with age. The crystal is scratched. Dial is in overall good condition. Bezel markers have worn. The movement is running at the time of cataloging, however, it was not tested for the accuracy of time or duration of the power reserve and may need service at the buyer's discretion. All watches sold in this collection are in their 'as found' vintage state and may include replacement parts or modifications.
