A 1962 World Series Game 7 ticket dual signed by Willie Mays and Willie McCovey, graded "Authentic Autograph" by Beckett.
This ticket to Game 7 of the 1962 World Series at Candlestick Park in San Francisco, California, is signed by Giants legends Willie Mays and Willie McCovey. In a dramatic conclusion to the Fall Classic, the New York Yankees narrowly held on to defeat the San Francisco Giants 1-0 to win the World Series. In the bottom of the 9th inning, with a runner on first, Mays drilled a double to right field to put the potential game-winning run in scoring position. McCovey stepped up to the plate with a chance to be the hero, but he lined out to second base to end the game.
Widely considered one of the greatest baseball players ever, Willie Mays was a two-time MVP, 12-time Gold Glove recipient and a 24-time All-Star Game selection. He led the Giants to a World Series title in 1954. McCovey made his big league debut with the Giants in 1959 and won the National League Rookie of the Year award. The slugger was named the National League MVP in 1969. Both players are members of the National Baseball Hall of Fame.
The ticket is encapsulated in a Beckett slab and received an "AUTHENTIC AUTOGRAPH" grade.
