Description

Simone Shubuck (American, b. 1969).

This portfolio is offered in a box.

Shubuck is at the forefront of a growing number of artists making paper their primary medium. Preferring to work on antique papers and stationary, the artist creates jewel-like collages using graphite and colored pencil, weaving together imagery inspired by the Viennese Secessionists, Indian miniatures of the Mughal Empire, graffiti art and rap music. The work is obsessive, compulsive, sumptuous, sensual, cerebral, intuitive and ultimately irresistible.
