Description
The Vacheron Constantin Historiques American 1921 is a retro interpretation of an iconic driver watch which Vacheron Constantin had initially developed in 1919. The layout of the dial was specifically made so that it was possible to read time while keeping your hands on the steering wheel. This remarkable art-deco styled design has remained popular among collectors over the years and remains as one of the most beautiful and unusual timepieces of Vacheron Constantin’s collection.
Condition Report
The watch is in very good overall condition with minor signs of wear and a few minor pinhead dings to the bezel at 12 o'clock. All hallmarks on the back are crisp. The movement is running at the time of cataloging, however, it was not tested for the accuracy of time or duration of the power reserve and may need service at the buyer's discretion. Please note that Sotheby's does not guarantee the future working of the movement.
Please be advised that bands made of materials derived from endangered or otherwise protected species (i.e. alligator and crocodile) cannot be shipped outside the country of sale. We reserve the right to remove these bands prior to shipping.
