SF-197 is a lithograph on BFK Rives by American Abstract Expressionist artist Sam Francis (1923-1994), dated 1975, edition 21/30.
The large-format work presents Francis's characteristic open composition, dense clusters of black ink at the periphery giving way to large expanses of unworked white paper, creating a dynamic tension between mark and void.
