Westbrook recorded a double-double, finishing with 24 points, 11 rebounds, 8 assists and 4 steals. The Clippers lost to the Lakers, 130-125.

In the 2016-17 NBA season, after averaging 31.6 points, 10.7 rebounds and 10.4 assists per game, Russell Westbrook became the first player since Oscar Robertson in 1962 to average a triple-double. The remarkable accomplishment helped the fiery point guard win league MVP honors.

As it turned out, Westbrook was just getting started. 

The UCLA product averaged a triple-double again in 2018, 2019 and 2021. But individual success aside, Westbrook’s teams have consistently made deep runs in the NBA postseason. His lone NBA Finals appearance came as a member of the Oklahoma City Thunder in the 2011-12 season.
