Catalogue Note

The Royal Oak is a benchmark in the world of watchmaking, recognizable by its integrated bracelet, screws, and octagonal bezel. Gerald Genta's design is instantly recognizable, with exceptional finish and avant-garde shape.

First introduced in 1972 at the Basel Watch Fair, the Royal Oak 5402 is sporty and elegant but above all made of steel, designed for the modernity of the life in the 1970s.

This is a magnificent model that we have here, an stainless steel and yellow gold Royal Oak Moonphase, in great condition. The reference 25594 was produced also in steel, and in full yellow gold, white gold or pink gold.

Featuring day and date displays in subdials and a moon phase. It's the evolution of the 5572 released one year before in 1983, who only have day and date. It is powered by the 2124/2825 caliber, an automatic movement. The Audemars Piguet’s watchmaker added the 2825 cadrature at the basic movement 2124, a module that indicates the day, date and moon phase.

Produced from 1984 to 2001, it appears that 1,802 stainless steel and yellow gold Royal Oak 25594 SA watches were sold by 2006.

A historic watch with useful and highly aesthetic complications, and above all, a beautiful presence on the wrist.
