Description
The Rolex Explorer II reference 1655 earned the nickname 'Steve McQueen' thanks to a 1970's Rolex ad campaign that featured the Hollywood icon’s rugged persona. Ironically, McQueen never actually wore the 1655 being that his personal favorite was the Submariner. Still, the campaign left a lasting impression, tying the watch to McQueen’s adventurous image. The 1655 has since become a cult favorite among collectors, affectionately known as the 'Steve McQueen' Rolex.
