The Oystersteel Cosmograph Daytona Ref. 116500LN unveiled at Baselworld 2016 and produced until 2023, stands as a defining modern steel chronograph. It marked the first instance of Rolex uniting the classic Daytona case with a monobloc black Cerachrom bezel, a scratch resistant ceramic ring whose engraved tachymeter scale is PVD‑filled for enduring clarity.
The black dial configuration, often dubbed the “Reverse Panda” presents a cohesive, stealth leaning motorsport aesthetic, its deep gloss dial contrasted by crisp white chronograph rings. Powered by the Calibre 4130, the reference is celebrated for its vertical clutch architecture, robust reliability, and balanced case proportions.
Discontinuation in 2023 elevated the 116500LN from contemporary flagship to modern collectible, prized for its launch significance, restrained production span, and timeless execution.
