The Patek Philippe Gondolo Cabriolet (Ref. 5099) is an extraordinarily rare and characterful Art Deco‑inspired timepiece produced from 2000 to 2008, celebrated for its unconventional design and mechanical whimsy. Nicknamed the “Cabriolet”, the watch features a mechanized hinged cover that rotates to conceal or reveal the dial , a wrist‑optimized reinterpretation of the hunter‑case pocket watch tradition pioneered in the 19th century. Crafted with Patek’s signature geometric Gondolo styling and produced in extremely limited numbers, the 5099 stands as one of the maison’s most quirky, collectible, and architecturally inventive modern references.
