Description
First introduced in the 1960s, the Rolex reference 6694 in particular is a special watch. While many are familiar with the Oyster case and perpetual automatic winding mechanism, the replacement of the “Perpetual” label in its name points to the fact that it was one of the rare examples from Rolex that was not self-winding. The 6694 is a “Precision” model—it also is one of the few vintage Rolex that is not “Chronometer Certified.”
Condition Report
ReviveThe watch is heavily worn throughout and is in need of restoration. Case is in overall fair condition with signs of scratches. Bracelet shows moderate signs of stretch throughout commensurate with age, signs of scratches and being previously polished. Hands are worn and pitted. Dial shows signs of wear at the markers. Caseback shows signs of moderate scratches. The movement is running at the time of cataloging, however, it was not tested for the accuracy of time or duration of the power reserve and may need service at the buyer's discretion.
