Description

A first edition of one of 50 large paper copies of Lady Windermre's Fan by Oscar Wilde.

  • Small quarto.
  • Publisher's straw colored buckram with gilt decorations by Charles Ricketts, gilt lettering to spine, housed in custom purple cloth chemise and matching quarter morocco slip-case.


One of 50 large paper copies of Wilde's four-act comedy, first performed on Saturday, 20 February 1892, at the St James's Theatre in London. Like many of Wilde's plays, it bitingly satirizes the morals of society.
