Description
The history of OMEGA began in 1848, when Louis Brandt set up a watchmaking business in La Chaux-de-Fonds. His business was innovative in that the work was divided between different production units, each specializing in a particular part of the movement. All the components were then assembled under the brand name "Louis Brandt." In 1880, they launched the first caliber in series "Le labrador." This caliber was a real success and allowed the brand to develop rapidly and hire nearly 250 people during the year. By the end of the decade, the factory had become the largest in the Swiss watchmaking industry, capable of producing 100,000 watches per year.
This Omega De Ville Reference 424 is an automatic stainless steel wristwatch featuring a stainless steel case, size in diameter 36 mm. Stainless steel bracelet with folding clasp. Automatic movement. Black dial with Roman indexes, date display at 3 o'clock position.

GoodThe watch is in overall good condition. Case is in overall good condition with moderate surface wear. Bracelet has signs of stretch, scratches and surface wear throughout commensurate with age. Buckle has signs of scratches. Crystal has signs of scratches and surface wear throughout commensurate with age. Case back has signs of scratches. The movement is running at the time of cataloging, however, it was not tested for the accuracy of time or duration of the power reserve and may need service at the buyer's discretion.
