Nirvana

A handwritten set list for the Nirvana performance that took place at the Mayfair, Newcastle, England on the 2nd December 1991 during the group’s ‘Nevermind’ tour.

• Dave Grohl, Nirvana (American).
• Written on the reverse of a photocopied review of Nevermind which was published in the French version of Metal Hammer magazine.
• Duct tape is still attached to both edges from where the set list was attached to the stage. 
• This work is presented unframed.

Accompanied by a detailed letter of authenticity from the person that obtained the set list on the night which reads, in part:

‘To whom it may concern, Five of us went to see Nirvana at Newcastle Mayfair in December 1991. At the end of the gig, my mates lifted me up and I crowd surfed to the front of the stage before being thrown on. I have no idea why the bouncers didn’t stop me, as they had done everyone else that night, but I landed on the stage right beside Kurt Cobain’s set list for that concert. I pointed at it, then at me and received a ‘thumbs up’. I quickly snatched it and stuffed it up my jumper before jumping back into the crowd.'
