Drawing inspiration from thrifting and DIY culture, the Nike Air Jordan 1 Retro High NRG Union Los Angeles "Black Toe" comes from a collaboration between Nike and Los Angeles menswear boutique Union. With a nod to vintage style, the shoe features a pre-yellowed midsole. Additionally, the design includes a mismatched collar and zigzag stitching on the upper.
The Nike Air Jordan 1 is one of the most iconic designs in the history of both streetwear and basketball, and is a key part of the origin of the Air Jordan brand for Nike. Designed by Peter Moore, the Air Jordan 1s were worn by Michael Jordan in 1984 and 1985, as well as modified versions in 1986 (after a broken foot Michael endured).
