Nike

As a part of Nikes 2008 1World campaign, Nike partnered with French DJ, producer, and manager Pedro Winter, aka. Busy P. Busy P became famous for initially managing Daft Punk, before creating Ed Banger Records which has discovered and subsequently propelled various French artists and DJs. Alongside 17 other global creative icons like KAWS, Questlove, and CLOT, Nike sought to collaborate with global talents to release special interpretations of the Air Force 1. 

One of the most striking pairs of the 1World collaboration, the pair is dressed with a predominantly black leather upper, and a matching black outsole. The midsole however is a vibrant spectrum of the rainbow which is truly unique of pairs from that era. The black leather upper is also sprawled with pen designs - credited to Busy P and creative partner on the project So Me. The swoosh is an iridescent purple and the lining is an eye-catching pink. In line with the pair's outrageous design, So Me had designed two giant sneakers which were placed in Colette's window - which is where the initial 200 pairs were released. After much public demand there were limited releases internationally.

Busy P admitted in an interview that the final sneaker was the compromise between his and So Me’s vision. Busy P had wanted a colorful and over the top pair - in line with his first single titled “Rainbow Man”, whereas So Me had wanted a darker more serious pair. The result is one of the most unique and identifiable pairs of the era.
