Joel Otterson (American, b. 1959).
- Mr. and Mrs. Monster Carving Set is a limited-edition knife and fork set. These eccentric utensils continue the artist’s interest in and exploration of utilitarian domestic objects. The carving set is an amalgam of two juxtaposed elements. The upper torsos are a composite of male and female children’s superhero figure toys, and their legs are a metaphor for those of a French Provincial chair. The carving set is fabricated by Braganti Silversmith in Florence, Italy. The two sculptural copper bases are made by the artist in his own studio.
