Description

Composed of carved agate accented by lapis lazuli plaques, with applied numbers and dials decorated with blue enamel.

Condition Report

In overall good condition, with minor wear and abrasions to the surfaces and moderate tarnishing to the silver gilt. The top lapis lazuli panel is loose. One screw missing from the back plate. French assay mark for mixed silver and gold. Workshop mark for Jean-René Lutz. The agate is medium light slightly brownish gray with lighter striations. The lapis lazuli is medium blue with white calcite streaks and small pyrite specks. The enamel is intact and in good condition. The clock is in running condition at the time of cataloguing but has not been tested for accuracy of timekeeping.
