BAPE

In 2005, A Bathing Ape, better known as Bape, collaborated with American artist KAWS to produce these special Bape x KAWS Skull Stas. The name is derived from the signature “X” on the rubber shells of the toes, which often mark the empty eyes of KAWS’ figures. 

The upper is made of a grey fabric with KAWS’ design and figures throughout — the same design which is found across other Bape products at the time, such as the Bapesta KAWS FS-010 and complementary apparel. The outsoles are a matching grey color, while the only real color comes from the red laces which match the thunderbolt graphics on the print.
