Catalogue Note
LeCoultre was first and foremost a renowned maker of movements with the ability to manufacture complete watches, supplying the most prestigious houses thanks to its expertise in miniaturisation since 1833. The Reverso was introduced in 1931, created for British officers in India who needed a watch robust enough to withstand polo matches. Its swivelling case and Art Deco aesthetic quickly made it an icon.
The piece presented here perfectly reflects this blend of elegance and technical mastery. It is powered by the JLC calibre 878, a sophisticated movement that offers hours, minutes, seconds with blued hands, a day/night indicator, and a beautifully executed large date on the main dial.
Reversing the case reveals a more contemporary second dial featuring : a dual time-zone display with day/night indicator, a subdial showing the differential between local and reference time, and an exceptional eight-day power reserve indicator.
This model brings together all the strengths of the Reverso: timeless Art Deco design, unique dual-dial versatility, and the watchmaking know-how of Jaeger-LeCoultre.
Elegant, ingenious and highly practical with the 2 pushers, it is a refined and accomplished interpretation of one of the most enduring classics in wristwatch history.
