The Rolex Explorer reference 14270 is a model that has adopted a minimalistic design in comparison to the Daytona, Submariner or even Day-Date. However, it is also because of its simple design that many seasoned Rolex collectors deeply adore this watch. Sharing many similar traits as a vintage Rolex watch, the present watch features a striking 3-6-9 hour marker with a glossy dial that enhances the depth perception of the dial.
The watch is in overall fair condition with moderate wear throughout commensurate with age. The case is in overall fair condition with minor surface wear. The bezel by 4 o'clock has a large dent. The dial is in overall good condition. Bracelet has moderate signs of stretch and surface wear throughout commensurate with age. The buckle has signs of scratches and surface wear. The movement is running at the time of cataloging, however, it was not tested for the accuracy of time or duration of the power reserve and may need service at the buyer's discretion. Please note that Sotheby's does not guarantee the future working of the movement.
