Description
The Rolex Datejust 1603 was released in 1959 and continued production for nearly two decades, retiring in the late 1970s. Typically, the Oyster case and fluted bezel attached to a jubilee bracelet formed the iconic trio that many can easily identify as the Datejust. However, the 1603 stands out with its engine-turned bezel, which is only found on this reference, complemented by a silver pie-pan dial. The rare dial gained popularity in the '60s and '70s, with a beveled outer ring resembling an inverted cake pan.

ReviveThe watch is heavily worn throughout and is in need of restoration. Case is in overall fair condition with moderate surface wear and signs of being polished previously. Bracelet shows moderate signs of stretch, scratches, and surface wear throughout commensurate with age. Dial is in overall fair condition. The luminosity has aged to a warm yellow. Crystal shows minor signs of scratches. The movement is running at the time of cataloging, however, it was not tested for the accuracy of time or duration of the power reserve and may need service at the buyer's discretion.
