Description
Edmond Mathey-Tissot established his watchmaking business in the village of Les Ponts de Martel in 1886. Mathey-Tissot initially specialized in "repeater" watches, timepieces that chime the hour and half hour. This was followed by the production of chronograph watches, a tool crafted with such ingenuity and precision that they were immediately successful. This example is a self-winding day date with a beautiful vignette brown dial.
Honest Vintage: The Greg Selch Collection
A native New Yorker from a family of connoisseurs, Greg Selch has collected watches for over 20 years, among many other things. Over the years, Selch has become well-known for his passion: “orphan watches” as well as well-worn watches with patina, for which a term has been created: #selchism.
