Christo and Jeanne-Claude's lithograph featuring a chemical plant and tower is reflective of the duo's interest in large-scale, monumental works of art that alter landscapes and city centers.

Allied Chemical Tower was the name of the building that is named One Times Square as of 2026. The building was sold to Allied Chemical in 1963 to be used as a sales headquarters and showroom. It was dedicated with the name "Allied Chemical Tower" in 1965 and stayed named as such until it was briefly renamed "Expo America" in 1973, before finally being renamed "One Times Square" in 1976. It currently is home to the ball which features in the ball drop every New Year's Eve in Times Square.

This work by the artist duo features the famed building wrapped in fabric and tied with ropes, one of the signature elements of Christo and Jeanne-Claude's practice.
