Description

A Chinese sterling silver hand mirror by Wang Hing.

  • Founded in Canton, Wang Hing evolved to become the best known and most prolific maker of export silver during the late China Trade period. Towards the end of the 19th century, Wang Hing forged connections with Western silver firms and exhibited silver at international exhibitions. In the late 19th and early 20th centuries, the firm had retail premises throughout Hong Kong and Guangzhou.
  • Decorated with an embossed dragon clutching a pearl with its dramatic serpentine tail adorning the handle.
  • Marked WH, 90 with silversmith mark on the handle.
