Description

A large Gosu-akae-type porcelain bowl from the Ming dynasty.

  • Produced in China for export to Japan as well as Southeast Asia in the Ming and early Qing dynasties.
  • Painted with a center medallion depicting a pagoda and mountains with figures and fishing boats, flanked by roundels and potters marks.
  • Old kintsugi repair bestowing a wabi-sabi aesthetic.
  • Displayed on a custom stand.
