An early 20th century American School oil showing a view of a sailor caulking the seams of a substantial wooden sailing ship, with a view beyond toward red-tiled houses beneath clouded blue skies. A painterly and atmospheric work by an anonymous but skilled hand, and dating to circa 1920.
