The Cartier Santos Dumont XL is named after a prominent figure in the history of aviation, Alberto Santos-Dumont. Dating back to 1904, the fact that it was worn by a pilot has also earned it the title of the world’s first pilot watch. The 2021 W2SA0025 presented today is an XL limited edition of 500 pieces. The caseback is engraved with Alberto Santos Dumont’s “No. 19” flying machine.

Very GoodThe watch is in very good overall condition. The case shows few minor signs of use. The movement, the dial and hands are in excellent condition. The buckle is in good condition with minor signs of use. The movement is running at time of cataloguing; however, it was not tested for the accuracy of time or duration of the power reserve and may need service at the buyer's discretion.
