Description
In 1983, after Blancpain's brush with death caused by the quartz crisis, the company name was purchased by Jean-Claude Biver, the president of Louis Vuitton's watchmaking division, and Jacques Piguet, the son of Fréderic Piguet and the director of Piguet's movement manufacturer. This business move, along with the company's aim to revive mechanical watchmaking after the crisis, was the beginning of the Blancpain revival. Blancpain decided to reintroduce some of its famed complications instead of reducing costs to try and save the company. And we're all luckier for it because we got beauties like this Flyback Chronograph out of it.
This Leman Flyback reference 2185F-AD153064B is a white gold automatic wristwatch with flyback chronograph and date, with 38mm diameter case in 18k white gold. Black leather strap with folding buckle. The dial is multilayered and eccentric. The dial features patinated, long and broad tritium filled hands to match wide set numerals, which have also begun to stunningly age. With the red tip of the chronograph hand. This watch comes with paper and box.
