Description

American sterling silver water pitcher made by Reed & Barton.

  • Louis XV pattern, ovoid baluster with leaf and shell pilasters.
  • Helmet mouth and beaded leaf-capped and -mounted high-looping scroll handle; foot raised with curvilinear rim.
  • Applied classical ornament with masks, shells and leafing scrollwork set in engraved curvilinear frames; two scrolled frames, of which one is vacant and the other is engraved with single letter monogram.
  • Guilloche and leaf-and-dart rims.
  • Fully marked including maker’s stamp and no. 712C.
