A pair of Japanese menuki from the Edo period.

  • Finely cast gilt bronze depicting karashishi.
  • Menuki are woven under the tsuka-ito to hide the mekugi pins, which secure the tsuka to the tang of the blade on a Japanese katana.
  • Displayed on a custom stand.
