Description

An English sterling silver inkstand.

  • Large lidded inkstand, of rectangular casket form, with a hinged lid, engraved with rococo scrolls and foliage, with vacant cartouches resting on four cast scroll feet.
  • Inside mounted with twin cut glass and silver mounted removable inkwells, a removable wick burner and a vacant compartment for writing quills.
  • Hallmarked English silver (925), London, year 1850 (p), maker's mark R.H. (Robert Hennell).
