A square dining table from the late Qing dynasty.

  • Carved elm table with original oxblood lacquer finish.
  • The floating panel top above the two drawers is held by round corner posts that gracefully transform into square feet as they meet the ground.
  • Found at the center of social activity, square tables like this one were used on a daily basis for dining, serving tea or playing games.
