Description

Chinese Export Famille Rose hexagonal vase and cover from Qianlong 乾隆 period.

  • Decorated on each side with shaped panels in enamels and gilt.
  • Each panel depicts leisure lifestyle of noble family in a garden setting by a pavilion.
  • The sides of the neck are decorated with boy playing in garden and the base with birds in garden within gilt foliate scrolls.
  • Cover is decorated and surmounted by a Buddhist lion gilt finial.
  • Raised on a hexagonal metal base.
