Description

American silver trophy by Gorham.

  • Two-handle cup with hammered surface.
  • Bead detail along handles and on body, above and below the wide central band of acorns and oak leaves.
  • The round stepped base decorated with grapes and leaves.
  • The neck with a band of large flower buds and leaves.
  • Engraved center cartouche with fleur de lis, inscribed for The Reverend William Andrew Leonard, October 12, 1909, by his followers, commemorating the twentieth anniversary of his consecration as their bishop, and in faithful recognition of his noble leadership.
  • Opposite with cobalt blue enameled shield and crest over ribbon sash, reading POUR BIEN DESIRER.
  • Raised on a round wood plinth base.
  • Bearing hallmarks.
