Description

Extremely rare sterling silver cigarette lighter and dispenser made by Shreve, Crump & Low, Boston and retailed by Cartier.

  • To operate, place cigarette in depository under top lid and pull down the side lever; cigarette is then dropped, lit and dispensed.
  • Cigarette is lit by an internal bellows with a flame created with flint and lighter fluid.
  • Design first patented in 1928.
  • Other examples were retailed by Dunhill, but this is perhaps the only known example retailed by Cartier.
  • Marked with Cartier stamp and reference numbers, and Shreve, Crump & Low maker's mark and registration number.
