Description

American silver sterling seahorse flask made by Tiffany and Co., New York.

  • Oval with curved sides and flat front and back.
  • On front is seahorse with ribbed body and volute-scroll tail floating amongst seagrass.
  • Back with integrated script monogram.
  • Allover hand-hammered ground.
  • Short neck and threaded and cork-lined cover with ball bearing-style beading.
  • Fully marked including maker’s stamp, pattern number 6855 (first produced in 1882) and director’s letter M (1873-91).
