Description

American Neoclassical Revival sterling silver water pitcher.

  • Made by Meriden Britannia (part of International Silver Co.) in Connecticut, ca 1910.
  • Round and tapering bowl in domed foot.
  • Bellied shoulder, helmet mouth and leaf-capped scroll-bracket handle.
  • Decorated with Garland, rinceaux, acanthus leaves, and leafing scrolls and pendant flowers overlapping columnar frames (vacant).
  • Leaf-and-dart borders.
  • Fully marked including International and Meriden Britannia stamps, pattern name, number 5102B and volume (5 pts).
