Prior to the release, in 2014, Pharrell Williams joined the adidas roster alongside cross-industry creatives such as Katy Perry and Stella McCartney. With Pharrell exercising creative freedom across classic adidas silhouettes such as the Superstar and ZX series, he soon moved to the iconic adidas NMD, the silhouette built on the success of their boost and Primeknit technology.
Culminating in a variety of colorways and designs — Pharrell’s NMDs were often adorned with messages and motifs on the uppers — providing sneaker collectors with an era of highly sought-after limited releases and Friends & Family packs.
The adidas Human Race NMD Pharrell x Chanel is finished in an all-black Primeknit upper with contrasting white embroidery of "CHANEL" and "PHARRELL." The collaboration is extremely limited, with only 500 pairs were made available for purchase at Colette, the Paris concept store.
