Japanese artist and designer Takashi Murakami’s visual ecosystem is among the most recognizable. Murakami’s “Superflat” style is an unmistakable combination of anime, Nihonga painting and pop art satire that animates their 2D paintings. In his Superflat world, smiling flowers, jellyfish eyes and Murakami’s own alter ego—Mr. Dob—synergize fine and pop art references together.

This collaboration is between the artist and Porter-Yoshida — a Japanese manufacturer of bags and accessories celebrating its 85th anniversary. Alongside various waist bags and backpacks, the collaboration included a large playful 1m pillow bag, which can be worn via its detachable straps. This plush bag comes in a PORTER deep green and features the famous Murakami flower face, as well as PORTER branding.
