Description
The DJ AM Nike Dunk High and DJ Premier Nike Air Force 1s were a limited edition two-pack released in collaboration with Nike and come with a commemorative Serrato vinyl record. Although, the initial drop was released bicoastally with a retailer in New York and a retailer in Los Angeles the shoes have been brought together for purchase.
Adam Goldstein (DJ AM) was a ‘sneakerhead’ long before the term became mainstream. He started collecting sneakers in 1990 and amassed close to 900 pairs before his passing in 2009. His dunks draw inspiration from the bred/ banned Jordan 1 colorway and are meant to pay homage to his love of sneakers. DJ AM adds finishing touches with dots found at the heel of the shoe, a gray swoosh, and his DJ AM logo on the tongue.
DJ Premier is a celebrated East Coast DJ and chose the Air Force 1 silhouette to pay respect to his city and hip-hop. The Air Force 1 has always been a staple in New York City and DJ Premier brings his own touch to an old classic. The mostly brown and forest green colorway is balanced by an off-white swoosh laid on top of crocodile skin. The crocodile skin can also be found on the heel tab just above the laser etching of DJ Premier's name. The translucent outsole also reveals turntable graphics.
