Mixed media, acrylic and dried flowers on canvas
20 x 40 cm
This work is an attempt to hold on to summer and to preserve a fleeting moment before it disappears.
Flowers have always carried a particular kind of memory. They speak of a place, a season, a feeling; they capture a mood in the moment of their bloom. Yet when they dry, they do not simply lose their beauty. They transform it. Their colour softens, their form becomes fragile.
I am drawn to the poetry of dried flowers because they exist somewhere between life and memory. They preserve the beauty of a passing moment, allowing time to become part of the work itself.
Through colour and the delicate presence of the flowers, I wanted to create not an image of summer, but a memory of it the warmth, light and emotion.
