“ The 1993 cast bronze sculptures, which bear the title of Early Forms, are the result of complex processes relating both to their formal aspect and to their content; processes just as entangled as the shape of the containers themselves, which are melted into new synthetic units in which one shape gives the appearance of being the transformation of another, and where each shape becomes too large, invades the and hugs him. It is as if the intermediate stages of an evolution or a transformation had acquired a material existence and that, having made them visible, they no longer stemmed from purely abstract speculation. ” - Armin Wildermuth, cited in: Tony Cragg Early Forms, Basel, Galerie Buchmann, 1994, p. 8
