Maria E. Rios de Damianovich, Buenos Aires Thence by descent (and sold, Christie's, New York, February 19, 1992, lot 47, illustrated) Don Purdy, Connecticut Acquired from the above by the present owner
Lined. Overall the work presents well aside from minor surface dirt and dust and faint dots of accretion scattered across the ground. Under UV: heavy varnish fluoresces green and largely impedes a review of the surface; however, there appear to be fine retouches to the ground near the lower edge and in the trees at upper right; and a diagonal line of inpainting extending from the left lower edge to the lower left corner.
