Set with button and drop shaped cultured pearls, and brilliant-cut diamonds, the front embellished with two carved and polished opals, length approximately 370mm, signed Gilbert Albert, numbered, case signed Gilbert Albert.

Catalogue Note

After studying jewellery craftsmanship and design at L'Ecole des Arts Industriels  in Geneva, Gilbert Albert became the designer and head of Patek Philippe's workshop in 1955. In 1962, he founded his own workshop and thanks to his original and well-made pieces, he won five times the ‘Oscar’ at the Diamonds International Awards. His exceptional jewels using corals, pearls, shells, opals, crystals, diamonds and gemstones, on a worked gold mount, encountered great success with the international clientele and his creations were exhibited around the world in London, Tokyo, Johannesburg, New York. He was also the first living artist since 1917 to be invited to present his work in the Moscow Kremlin in 1991 and then in 2003.
