TWO MASSACHUSETTS GUBERNATORIAL (AND SIGNERS OF THE DECLARATION) DOCUMENTS SIGNED
Hancock: Printed broadside signed ("John Hancock"), on paper (12 7/8 x 14 1/8 in.; 326 x 360 mm), accomplished in a clerical hand, [Boston], 17 September 1787, appointing Abel Boynton "Captain of the fourth company, in the sixth Regiment and in the Second Brigade of the third Division of the Militia of this Commonwealth comprehending the County of Middlesex," countersigned John Avery, embossed paper seal — Adams: Printed broadside signed ("S Adams"), on paper (6 3/4 x 7 1/8 in.; 173 x 182 mm, sight), accomplished in a clerical hand, Boston, 16 October 1795, directing Treasurer Thomas Davis to pay Hon. Justice Nathan Cushing of the Supreme Judicial Court $375 for one quarter's salary, countersigned John Avery.

Together 2 documents, the Hancock a little browned and spotted, some light creasing at folds, the Adams matted so as to hide the lower third of the document, including the direction to Davis and Avery's signature, hidden portion mat-burned (accompanied by color scans showing the full recto and verso of the document, the latter of which includes Cushing's receipt signature. Individually matted, framed, and glazed with a portrait of the signer.
