QING DYNASTY, 18TH CENTURY

the cylindrical body raised on three low bracketed feet, one side boldly carved with branches of large blossoming peony flowers with two small hovering butterflies, the other side carved with a long inscription signed Meng Shan Jushi zhi, dated to the wuwu year, corresponding to probably 1738 or 1798, followed by a colophon dated to the yisi year in the Guangxu reign, corresponding to 1905, the bamboo of reddish brown tone and smooth patina
