Sotheby's New York, The Churchill Brazelton Collection, May 15, 1981, lot 61
A comparable pair of carved and giltwood five-branch wall lights, decorated with military trophies hung on ribbon-tied oak branches, was in the Wildenstein Collection, sold Christie's London, December 14-15, 2005, lot 319.
These have been conserved and regilt in modern times, displaying repairs to small breaks to carving and minor losses and rubbing to gilding.
There are traces of wax residue to candle nozzles that can be easily removed. Very decorative and of impressive scale.
